Man charged after allegedly pointing a firearm at police in Warwick

A man has been charged following an armed incident in Warwick last month.

As we reported on Sunday February 28, the area around Emscote Road was closed for some time as police vehicles and a helicopter dealt with an armed incident.

Today (March 29) police have said that Daniel Reid, 34, of Emscote Road, Warwick, has been charged with possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence and five counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

Police were called to Reid’s home address out of concern for his welfare when it is alleged a firearm was pointed at them.

Reid will appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on May 7.
