West Midlands Counter Terrorism detectives, backed up by members of the bomb disposal team, executed firearms warrants at two properties in the town on Monday evening (February 15).

Ben Styles, aged 23 from Plymouth Place, Leamington, will appear before Coventry magistrates today (Wednesday) accused of possession of a component part of a prohibited weapon and ammunition, and possession of Class A drugs.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The arrest was intelligence-led and there was no immediate threat to the public.

"The EOD attended to assist during our searches as a precaution."
