Heirlooms and antiquities belonging to residents in Kenilworth will be valued later this month when TV's Bargain Hunt and Flog It expert Charles Hanson comes to town.
Known as 'Hands-on Hanson' by the other experts in the TV programmes, he will be at Kenilworth Cricket Club on September 30 to support the club's Fire Appeal.
An avid cricket fan, he will give up his spare time, free of charge, to host the special Antiques Valuation Day at the club's ground in Warwick Road to help raise funds for the club, whose pavilion and function room were destroyed in an arson attack last December.
People can each bring one or two items to be valued, at a cost of 2.50 per item and all monies raised will go to the fire appeal.
Roger Mortimore, the club's secretary said: "It is a great coup to have such a well known personality and antique expert support our appeal.
"The valuation day is a novel event and I hope that by holding it a great deal of interest is created for the townsfolk and club members.
"I am sure everybody has one or two items in their homes that they always wondered about.
"Now is their chance to find out the value. I urge people to attend and support the event. It should be a great afternoon."
Readers are encouraged to visit the club's website www.kenilworthcc.co.uk for continued news on the club's activities and its fund raising.
The event will take place in the Bridge Club main room between 6noon and 4pm and is open to everyone. Last admission will be 3.30pm.
