Wicked witches, ghastly gouls and scary vampires were a-plenty at the Halloween party held at Foundry Wood in Leamington on Saturday.
Adults and children dressed up in impressive fancy dress outfits to get into the spirit of the event, while volunteers dished out hot soup and baked potatoes warmed over a campfire.
Activities during the afternoon included making a witch’s broomstick, decorating cupcakes in a Halloween design, creating pine cone firefighters and woodturning, while there were also pole-lathe demonstrations, music and singing round the campfire and a bring-and-share picnic.
Visitors were also able to explore the community woodland, which includes a pond, woodland paths and outdoor classroom.
The next activity taking place at Foundry Wood is a Forest Schools session today (November 7), from 11am to 3pm, with a children’s session in the morning and family session in the afternoon. On November 13, there will be a screening of Evil Dead 2 in the outdoor classroom at 6pm, as part of the Leamington Underground Cinema Festival.
