Glittering celebrations for parenting charity's jubilee
Around £1,400 was raised towards supporting new parents and parents-to-be in south Warwickshire at a National Childbirth Trust's charity ball at the Warwick Hilton on Saturday.
The Warwickshire Central branch hosted the occasion - which included a three-course dinner, quiz, raffle and dancing - to mark the charity’s 60th anniversary.
Branch co-ordinator Daniella Abraham also spoke about the history of the organisation and the campaigns it has run.
The funds raised on the night will be spent in the Warwickshire central area - particularly to fund its three breastfeeding drop-ins in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth.
The jubilee celebrations continue in Southam, with a tea party at the Graham Adams Centre on Sunday May 22 from 2pm to 4pm. Entry costs 50p and there will be demonstrations from baby and toddler groups, crafts, face painting and soft play.
The NCT is perhaps most well-known for its antenatal classes, but it also offers free breastfeeding support, baby massage, baby first aid, mums’ netball and more. www.nct.org.uk/branches/warwickshire-central
