Warwick in Bloom is now open to entries covering homes, gardens and shops for another year in hope of getting the town royally spruced up for summer.

The annual competition, sponsored by Warwick Castle and Warwick Racecourse, is about bringing plants and flower tubs to homes and shops and spruce up the town centre.

Warwick is this year already adorned with 113 hanging baskets and pots - more than any ever before - and children have ben out planting at the railway station ahead of the big competition launch.

And Cllr Mandy Littlejohn is hoping to go even further and reach out to new entrants to get creative and bring colour to their outdoor spaces.

“Warwick already looks fantastic thanks to all of our sponsors and it would be great if we could have some new entrants to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday year,” she said.

Categories include shops, commercial, hotels, large and small garden, window box and tubs, sheltered accommodation, community gardens, schools and public spaces.

Entry open to all, email interest to [email protected] by June 24. Judging will take place on July 4.
