Hundreds of Santas and elves recently took over Victoria Park in Leamington to raise money for The Myton Hospices.

The charity’s annual festive 5k saw more than 1,000 people dressed in Santa and elf suits on Sunday December 9 and is well on the way to hitting its £38,000 fundraising target.

Assistant Events Manager at The Myton Hospices, Rebecca Richards said: “Seeing so many Santas and elves take on this year’s Santa Dash really brought the Christmas spirit to Leamington.

“This time of year can be quite tough for some people; we just hope that the spectacle of hundreds of Santas running around Leamington to raise money for The Myton Hospiceswill bring a smile to someone this Christmas!”

The charity would like to say thank you to the Royal Spa Brass band, Rock Choir, Red Banger, The Spice Truck, the Pug Pubs, Waveform Productions for PA support, Mel Pitter for leadingthe warm up, Simon Button who was MC on the day, photographer Viv Porteous, event sponsors Denis Eagle and to all the volunteers and participants.
