An event bringing local businesses and jobseekers together is returning to Leamington following its inaugural success last year.
Leamington Jobs and Careers Fair showcases local opportunities available to local job seekers, from employment vacancies to advice on finding work, and will be held at Leamington Town Hall on Thursday March 5.
Organisations supporting the event include Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White, Warwickshire College, JobCentre Plus and Warwick District Council.
Those looking for work will get the chance to meet employers with job opportunities and access a jobs board highlighting current vacancies available across a variety of sectors.
A range of businesses and organisations will be on hand to offer information and advice on careers, skills, training, apprenticeships and volunteering, as well as help with CVs, interview techniques and finding work.
Chris White MP said: “Supporting our local economy is a priority for me. The progress made in Warwick and Leamington since 2010 is one of the best in the country in terms of unemployment, with the number of JSA claimants falling by 75 per cent. Furthermore, the number of unemployed youth claimants has decreased by 79 per cent in the same period.
“These figures are a credit to businesses locally. Across a wide range of sectors, Warwick and Leamington is punching above its weight but of course, more needs to be done and I hope that the Jobs Fair will provide those looking for work with helpful assistance in pursuing employment opportunities.
This year’s event coincides with National Careers Week and is also taking place during Love Leam, a month of activities celebrating the town which is organised by BID Leamington and focuses on local businesses during its third week from Saturday, March 1 to Friday, March 7.
The event will take place from 10am to 3pm. Visit www.loveleamington.com
