The funding will help cover staff, volunteer costs and small equipment to run the SAFE youth club at the Westbury Centre where local youth can come along and make friends or take part in new activities.

Push Projects LGBTQ Youth Support work with young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning, and the grant will help cover the costs of running a drop-in centre.

The centre provides activities and events that help its attendees feel empowered, as well as youth workers to lend additional support or signpost visitors to specialist services.

BBC Children in Need now funds 19 projects across Warwickshire.

Melinda Connelly, Children in Need’s head of the central region, said: “We are delighted to support organisations like Push Projects LGBTQ Youth Support and Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs, whose work will help young people in Warwick reach their fullest potential.

“They are great examples of our small grants in action, and demonstrate how even small sums of money can have a huge impact on young lives.”
