Snooker players showed they had other talents by winning the Fundraising Shield at this year’s Leamington Rotary Club Raft Race.
Members of Lillington Bowls Club’s snooker section were presented with the shield recently after rotarians had counted the team’s final donation - which was £1,921.
The money will be split between two charities - The Myton Hospices and Molly Olly’s Wishes.
This is the team’s second claim to the shield after they won in 2013 for raising £1,314 for the same two good causes.
Pictured at the presentation are Rachel Ollerenshaw of Molly Olly’s Wishes, Barry Frith president of Leamington Rotary, crew member Trevor Lewis holding the shield, Charlene Cole of theplasticshop.co.uk of Coventry - the raft’s sponsors, crew member and raft designer Mark Allen, Rachael Stevens of The Myton Hospices, and crew members Mike Haynes, Dennis O’Keeffe and Chris Langley.
The team’s raft HMS Tickitape, made out of 728 polythene drinks bottles, also won the ‘most innovative’ prize.
