The event, including traditional music and dancing displays, will take place at the Plough and Harrow pub in Whitnash Road for the second year running with the entertainment starting at 5pm and going on until 9pm.

Over the last few years, the Irish music group have made it through the finals of the All Britain Fleadh, and onto the All Ireland finals in Sligo and Ennis.

This achievement is all the more impressive as they were up against much larger groups from elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and America.

Members of the Leamington branch are mainly from Whitnash or Warwick Gates.

Comhaltas Midland Region chairwoman Marian Dwyer said “Irish traditional music can be very uplifting, and seeing the young people playing is a joy.”

Admission to the event is free and the night will also feature Irish bingo and a raffle.

Money raised will go to support the Comhaltas group, helping the families with travel expenses to the different competition venues in the UK and Ireland.

Plough & Harrow manageress, Sigourney Gowlett said, “It is lovely when you see families and the community come together to celebrate with live music and dancing.”
