Flee-footed Father Christmases set a new record for the number of runners in this year’s Myton Hospices’ Santa Dash in Leamington.
More than 1,100 participants dressed in Santa outfits set off on the 5km course around the town on Sunday December 11.
The fundraising target of £32,000 set for the event will pay for 237 children to have ten bereavement counselling sessions.
Lucy Turner, Events Coordinator at The Myton Hospices, said: “ We are absolutely thrilled with this year’s Santa Dash.
“This was our most popular Santa Dash ever and it was absolutely incredible to see over one thousand Santas and reindeer dashing around the centre of Leamington.
“ Our events really rely on the support of the local community and we have been overwhelmed with everyone’s support this year.
“Whether that has been through the participants themselves, local businesses or our amazing volunteers, we want to say a huge thank you to each and every person who supported this year’s event.”
The event, which started at the Pump Room Gardens, was sponsored by Dennis Eagle and supported by Bid Leamington.
