An award-winning chip shop in Warwick will be building on its current success by relocating to a bigger site.

The Chip Shed, which has been in West Street for nearly five years, is owned by Dan Chuter and Gregg Howard and Jamie Little is the shop manager.

Last month the team at the takeaway announced they would be moving to a bigger site to help make it a faster operation.

Dan said: "We are thrilled with the reputation (and awards) we seem to have gathered over the years.

"We will be moving to Swan Street and we will only be a two minute walk from our former home on West Street.

"We have simply outgrown our site on West Street.

"The configuration of the old site, doesn’t lend itself to a bigger or faster operation.

"We are investing significantly in the kitchen and equipment so that we can reduce the customer waiting time, which can be longer than we would like (especially on a Friday).

"We will also be extending the menu slightly while working towards offering delivery throughout Warwick and Leamington."

As well as having more room for the operating of the business, Dan said the new site will also create more space for customers.

He said: "Our restaurant space was somewhat limited (albeit quaint) and so we wanted to increase our offering on this front.

"We will have a dedicated takeaway area at the front and to the side of this there will be an entrance to restaurant.

"The new site will seat 70 plus and will also provide (when the time permits) a great space for private parties and events.

"Gregg and I have always said that we intend to grow The Chip Shed organically and the only way we can do this is by listening to our customers.

"It has certainly been a strange time lately, but we are confident that by further improving our offering, our fantastic, dedicated customers will join us. And hopefully, we will pick up some new ones along the way.

"We would like to highlight that this move is being done so that we can better serve our customers.

"We aim to significantly reduce waiting time (to zero for those who pre-order). It will be the same great Chip Shed... just better."

Dan and Gregg are hoping to have their new site ready around the end of May possibly early June.

They are also looking for waiting/bar staff as well as junior cooks/chefs anyone interested should email: [email protected]
