The team at the company has said that anyone with a 3D printer at home can also join the effort.

Designs for the headband are cheap and quick to 3D Print, usually taking around three hours to produce. An elastic strap which sits around the back of the head is added and finally a clear plastic screen is added to cover the face of the health worker.

Neil Sewell, managing director of Solid Print3D, said: "As a country, we need to 3D Print 1,000’s of facemasks now so that when the Coronavirus Pandemic gets worse in the UK, our NHS staff are well protected to keep them safe."
