French market in Warwick next weekend
French traders will be selling goods from stalls alongside the Warwick market in Market Square next Saturday (October 3).
There will be cheese and charcuterie from all the French regions, the new harvest of onions and garlic from Brittany, crêpes and galettes (savoury buckwheat crêpes) from Normandy, fragrant lavender and Marseille soap from Provence, art prints and café music from Paris, gifts galore and much more besides.
One trader of particular interest is Pascal, the last of the Onion Johnnies, the traders from Brittany that sold onions door to door on their bicycles in bygone days.
