The groups have set up an 'e-envelope' to allow the community to make their donations as usual.

The Christian Aid week launch service will be held on Sunday, May 9 at 6.30pm at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Warwick Road, Kenilworth.

St Francis has been able to hold services throughout this lockdown, because strict arrangements are in place to people safe and the church is fully compliant with Covid Regulations.

For those unable to be present, the service will also be live streamed on YouTube and can be reached via www.tiny.cc/lwyoutubeElizabeth Kirwan, Christian Aid co-ordinator for Kenilworth, said: “The climate crisis hurts us all. But people living in poverty experience the worst of it every day.

"From drought to flooding, climate change robs people of control over their lives. Extreme weather means people are struggling to survive without a reliable source of water.

"Your gift could help a community build an earth dam, so when the rains do come, they will retain the water they need to survive.

"A reliable source of water will help families withstand long drought or relentless rainstorms.”

“Every donation can change lives. Together we stop this climate crisis.”
