The Angel Hotel on Regent Street has been open for essential business guests during some of the past year, but will welcome locals back to its premises when it launches its ‘Garden of Eden’ outdoor area on Saturday April 17th.

The space, which sees the hotel create outdoor seating for over 100 diners and drinkers including a covered area, will operate on all weekends throughout April and May from 11am until 7pm.

Now the hotel is hoping to use its status as one of the town’s most famous buildings, and a hub for national tourism, to turn the spotlight on some of the great food and drink businesses that have sprung up around the town.

Director Dan Clifford said: “I think the pandemic has strengthened the sense of community amongst people, and there has been a real feeling around people wanting to support local businesses.

“At the same time, we are expecting a massive influx of ‘staycationers’ into the town, taking weekend breaks and using it as a base to visit Stratford, Warwick, Coventry and the other surrounding areas.

“We have recently reached out to the likes of the Warwickshire Beer Company, Newbold Spirit and Napton Cidery and are encouraging other to get in touch and see if we can work together.

“It would be great to have our outside area packed with people eating from our great Spring Menu and enjoying a drink that is supporting a number of local businesses and jobs.

“When the hotel re-opens we will also be opening a shop so that visitors from all over the country can buy these products to take away with them and hopefully spread the brilliance of Leamington and Warwickshire around the country and the globe!”

The Angel Hotel is also launching a take-away Sunday Lunch offering to get people ready for the re-opening of indoor hospitality in May, with customers able to order their choice of roast for 2-6 people, including a homemade dessert.

Dan said: “Sunday lunch has been a sell out at The Angel for decades and people have been asking about take-away as they are missing the food. The new rules in April now make this possible and people will be able to grab a drink and leave with their Sunday dinner.”
