Many visitors went around the estate to see more then 100 scarecrows and they were also encouraged to donate dried or tinned foods or cash to the Warwick District Foodbank, via a collection point at the Woodloes Tavern.

The festival generated a big stack of food donations and around £145 was also raised for the Warwick District Foodbank.

Trevor Langley, on behalf of the scarecrow festival organisers, said: "We have been amazed and delighted with the response to Woodloes Scarecrow Festival, from the number of exhibitors, to the number of families of all ages walking around over the weekend - and now the generosity shown in supporting Warwick Food Bank with cash, food and cleaning products.

"Thanks to everyone, including Morrison’s, for their generosity.

"It encourages us to run another festival in the future to maintain the momentum and promote the community spirit which exists on our estate.

"We are already plotting a new venture for this winter. Watch this space.

"Thank you to all who have taken the time and trouble to make this such a success."
