Kenilworth Lions’ annual Boxing Day duck race was a ‘great success’ after a huge amount of tickets were sold and the weather stayed dry.
Although ticket sales have not been fully counted yet, it is thought the turnout was very high compared to previous years and might be one of the highest in the race’s history.
Kenilworth Lions member John Whitehouse said: “It was an excellent day. The weather was pretty kind to us really.
“It was quite a fast race as well - the stream was flowing very quickly and it only took about 10 minutes from start to finish.”
In first place was duck number 1200, second was 274, third was 847 and fourth was 857. Prizes of £100, £75, £50 and £25 will be given to the winners if they did not already collect them on the day.
