UPDATE: Two Warwick men charged after robberies

Two Warwick men have been charged after robberies at post offices in Barford and Bishops Itchington this month.

Matthew Baines, 33, of Langcliffe Avenue, was charged on Friday August 12 with two counts of robbery, two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and one count of attempted robbery.

He appeared at Leamington Magistrates Court on Saturday August 13 and has been remanded in custody until Thursday September 15.

And Daniel Hay, 34, of Portobello Way, appeared at Leamington Spa Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday August 16) charged with robbery. He is due to appear again on Thursday September 15.

The Barford robbery happened on Friday August 5, and the Bishops Itchington robbery took place four days later.

A 21 year-old man, a 23 year-old man, a 25 year-old man, a 29 year-old man and a 32 year-old man, all from the Leamington area have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and have been bailed until September.
