A Wasps Rugby Club star will be setting off the runners at the Regency run next weekend.
On Sunday April 2 runners will be taking part in the 13th annual Wright Hassall Regency 10k run.
So far more than 2,000 people have signed up to the Leamington event.
Full-back Rob Miller, who joined Wasps Rugby Club from Sale Sharks in 2014, will start the race at 9am.
Rob Miller has played 66 matches for Wasps, starting 37 games and scoring 98 points.
This year’s event and the 1K children’s fun run, which follows at 10.30am, coincides with a landmark celebration for the organisers Leamington Round Table, who are celebrating being up and running for 70 years.
Mark Chambers, president of Leamington Round Table, said: “We’re delighted that Rob Miller has accepted our offer to start this year’s run, it’s great that Wasps are out in the community supporting events like this.
“Wasps have really embraced the community since moving to the area and I know a lot of the guys live in the Leamington area – where a lot of the money we raise will be donated to local charities and other causes.
“The 2017 run is gearing up to be our biggest yet – we have a few places remaining and I’d urge everyone to sign-up and get involved with what should be a fantastic event.”
The Wright Hassall Regency 10k Run has raised more than £250,000 for local causes in the past 12 years and is expected to raise more than £25,000 in 2017.
Leamington solicitors Wright Hassall are the main run sponsors and they are entering a team as well as presenting the prizes at the end.
Hannah Carey, from Wright Hassall, said: “The event is so good for the Leamington community, not only does it raise a significant amount of money for charity but it really does bring everyone together on race-day.
“We can’t wait for the day and to present the fastest finishers with the prizes at the end of the race.”
Entries are still open for this year’s Wright Hassall Regency 10k run.
