Woman pleads guilty to helping manage Leamington brothel

Ting Low, 34, of High Street, Ongar, Essex, admitted helping run a brothel in High Street, Leamington, between September 2013 and June 2014.

She also pleaded guilty to assisting in the management of a brothel in Pool Bank Street, Nuneaton, between November 2013 and September the following year, and one in Albion Street, Wolverhampton, in September 2014.

In addition, Low admitted similar charges in relation to brothels in Nottingham, Torquay, and Finchley in London, on dates during a five-year period between 2010 and January last year.

Two further charges were put to Low that she concealed, disguised, transferred, converted or removed the proceeds from brothels, knowing it represented criminal property, commonly referred to a money laundering, to which she pleaded guilty.

She appeared alongside five women and two men following police raids on a number of brothels, including other premises in Nuneaton and Wolverhampton.

Among others in the dock, Shuanxi Fu, 36, of Ronelean Road, Surbiton, Surrey, and one of the men, Tarun Lad, 37, of the same address, pleaded not guilty to keeping or managing the brothel in Finchley for prostitution.

Tracey Chan, 44, of Forton Road, Gosport, at first denied keeping or managing the brothel in Nottingham between May 2014 and March last year. But she changed her plea to guilty when the charge was put to her again at the request of her barrister.

Chailuan Lim, 50, of Wesgate Court, Reading, pleaded guilty to an identical charge in relation to the brothel in Torquay, which operated between August 2011 and September 2014.

But Chye Readhead, 65, of Vicarage Way, Slough; Chay Yeoh, 55, and the second male defendant Martin Starrett, 51, both of Trafalgar Court, Reading, pleaded not guilty to one of those charges, while Lad and Fu pleaded not guilty to the other.
