Nomads A are definitely relegated after a 10-0 whitewash at the hands of champions-elect Rugby A, who included 15-year-old Sam Cafearo in their line-up.

Ryan Lines and Ryan Stockham joined him in taking trebles.

The other relegation spot remains open, with Free Church C unable to pull clear of fellow strugglers Colebridge B after playing out a draw.

Martyn Todd secured a hat-trick for Free Church and Chris Blowey and Harry Purewal chipped in with singles but Colebridge kept in it with two wins apiece from Vikas Bakshi and Anthony Ellis plus the doubles.

Both sides were then edged out 6-4 by Wellesbourne.

Todd again romped to three in Free Church’s clash and took the doubles with Adam Cofler but Pete Dunnett, John Price and Gary Stewart, with braces, saw the villagers home.

In the Colebridge encounter it was the turn of Ellis to remain unbeaten with John Chandler adding one but braces from Alan Cotton and Stewart, a single from Price and the doubles ensured victory went Wellesbourne’s way.

Colebridge A will have to battle hard for the runners-up spot after losing to Free Church A, the first-ever victory for the Lillington-based club against the Birmingham side.

Timmy Cooper was the hero with three, Lee Dorning added two and the pair combined for the doubles.

Nav Matharu (2), Sam Henderson (1) and Ben Willson (1) kept it close.

County Council B sit fourth after beating Free Church C 7-3, with Simon Griew taking a triple plus the doubles with Nilton Green who won two.

Murray Stevenson won the other point while Church replied with two wins from Purewal and one from Todd.

Phoenix O are three points clear at the top of Division Two with games in hand after trebles from Paul Calloway and Callum Martin plus two from Richard Jardim propelled them to a 9-1 win over Colebridge C. Neil Wheatley prevented the whitewash.

The chasing pack are closing in on second-placed Whitnash A whose cause was damaged by a 7-3 reverse at Free Church D.

Mark Bolshaw notched an impressive hat-trick for the home side with Jack Green (2) and Anthony Smith (1) supporting. Bolshaw and Green then nabbed the doubles with Kevin Arris (2) and Dennis Woodhead (1) replying.

Rugby B are two points behind Whitnash with a couple of matches in hand after a 6-4 win over bottom side Eathorpe A.

Danny Orr took his three and the doubles with Sam Cafearo who supplied two. Bernard Reman (2) Steph Hawkins (1) and Pete Titmas (1) gave Eathorpe an outside chance of avoiding the drop.

Rugby B also won 7-3 against Millennium A, Caferao and Orr taking the seven points.
