Evans, who is from Banbury, won three ABA championships before his modelling career took off, reportedly turning down a professional contract with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.

However, he is back in Britain and looking to continue where he left off after a four-year break from boxing.

Cleary’s are hoping to match 30 of the biggest boxers from around the UK, with Hull’s Ryan Fuller set to be joined on the card by a 7ft Russian, two female heavyweights and George Groves’ coach Paddy Fitzpatrick.

The show, which costs £60 for a dinner ticket and £11 for boxing only, will feature two curtain-raisers involving up-and-coming Leamington boxers Danny Quartermaine and Lewis Williams.

Both boxers have been selected to represent Warwickshire after impressing in training camps, with a place in the Midlands squad now the target.

There was disappointment, however, for Williams last Thursday, with the 15-year-old suffering defeat in his Junior ABAE Championships bout.

Standing at 6ft 4in, Williams struggled to make the weight, only getting down to 75kg with minutes to go and coach Edwin Cleary believes that took its toll on his charge.

“Lewis is growing so fast,” said Cleary. “Last season he was 67kg and I believe by next season he will pass the next weight category.

“At the time of entry Lewis was 74kg and has beaten the three national champions and boys’ school champion but he was a shadow of the guy that beat both champions due to his weight.

“We just hope by the next championships he’s in the middle of his weight category.”
