Brakes secure the services of Baker-Richardson for 2016/17
Leamington's preparations for the 2016/17 Southern League Premier campaign have received a further boost with the news that Courtney Baker-Richardson has agreed to remain at the club.
The livewire forward made an instant impression after joining from Kettering, scoring twice on his full debut against Hungerford.
He went on to make 16 starts for Brakes, scoring four more times, including a memorable equaliser against Redditch in the play-off semi-final.
The Coventry Academy youngster numbers Romulus, Nuneaton Town and Redditch United among his former clubs but Brakes boss Paul Holleran believes an extended period at the New Windmill will benefit both the player and the club.
“He came in and did well for us,” said Holleran. “I’ve said before that he needed to settle down somewhere and get some stability in his football career and he did that with us.
“He scored goals and played in a few different positions.
He added: “It could be a big season for Courtney. If he can get some more consistency into his game he could be a real good non-league player.
“From the word go he always wanted to stay.
“Hopefully, he can get back in pre-season, get his head down and do well for us.”
Jamie Tank and Lee Moore are the only two players from last year’s squad yet to have given any indication as to where they will be playing next season.
Striker Daniel Dubidat, who spent the tail-end of last season with Brakes, has joined Rushall Olympic.
