Wanderers get chance for revenge over Hibs in final of the Challenge Cup

Westlea Wanderers bounced back from their first league defeat of the season to thrash Mid-Warwickshire Police 7-0 in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup.

Luke Cole scored a hat-trick, with Michael Ellis (2), Luke Church and Craig Watkin also on target.

Wanderers will meet the team who inflicted that loss on them in the showpiece after Leamington Hibs beat Harbury Albion 3-0 in the other last-four clash.

First-half goals from Ricky Uppal, Matthew Houghton and Darren Proctor were enough to see Hibs through.

A Sion Humphreys brace saw Radford Albion through to the final of the George Dutton Cup at the expense of fellow Division Two side Khalsa Reserves.

In league action, Khalsa fought out a 1-1 draw with Bishops Itchington in a mid-table Division One encounter.

Rock-bottom Wellesbourne fought out a goalless draw at home to Radford Semele.

Two goals from Tom Williams helped Division Two leaders Midland Rangers to a 4-2 win at HRI Wellesbourne.

Steve Nollett and Stephen Fletcher were also on target for the visitors, with Greg Eales netting both the HRI responses.

Leamington FC Veterans’ hopes of promotion from Division Three look to have evaporated after they were held to a 3-3 draw by league leaders AFC Warwick.

James Canning (2) and David Care were on target for the hosts who needed a win to make up ground on the top two.

However, a brace from Samuel Opie and a 75th-minute Andrew McGrath strike ensured honours ended even.

Dynamo Leamington took advantage to join AFC Warwick on 29 points after beating Ettington Rovers 3-1.

Dynamo went in front thanks to a 17th-minute own goal and doubled their advantage through Cappa Hughes just short of the half-hour mark.

Daniel Boddington pulled one back for Rovers but a Ryan Woodward goal a minute before the half-time interval restored the home side’s two-goal cushion.

James McDowey and Robert Jolly both scored hat-tricks as Real Barston routed Grist Mill 7-0.

Richard Walker was also on target for the home side.

Chadwick End climbed above Grist Mill into sixth after getting the better of a five-goal thriller at Wroxton.

Ashley Wingrove and Joanthan Simon-Norris were on target for the home side but replies from Tez Morton, Ross Jackson and Martin Byrne ensured the visitors went home with the points.

In Division Four, Hampton Magna kept their title hopes alive with a nervy 2-1 win at home to Long Itchington.

Two goals in the space of 12 second-half minutes from James Garner had put the hosts in control but an 85th-minute Tom Warner strike set up a nervy finale.

Stockton continue to show their liking for cup competitions, thrashing Kenilworth Town Rangers 9-1 in the first round of the Cancer Supplementary Cup.

Will Wall scored a hat-trick for the hosts who are rooted to the bottom of Division Two, with Steven Boss, Joel Bennett and Billy Bench bagging braces.

Liberal Club C are also through to the second round after a second-half Thomas Rose double helped them to a 3-2 win at Heathcote Athletic.

Nick Keenan and Chris Collier had earlier put the hosts 2-0 up before Richard Anthony started the Liberal Club revival.

Foresters Arms join them after a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Kineton S&SC.

Goals from Kineton’s Callum Graham and Cameron Mair had earlier been cancelled out by Joseph Fisher and Leszek Mitura to take the game to spot-kicks.
