Masterful performances from Tawney nets her double indoor gold at Lee Valley
On the first day, Tawney competed alongside several different age groups in the 1500m and was involved in a tactical battle with fellow W55 runner Louise Jeffries (Team Bath).
Jeffries passed Tawney with 150 metres to go but a determined sprint finish from the Leamington athlete saw her pip her rival on the line by four tenths of a second, clocking 5min 46.27sec.

Nevertheless, Tawney dipped under the 12-minute barrier to win in 11:58:58.
And, despite it being slower than her winning time in 2015, the 56-year-old was pleased with her weekend’s work.
“With interrupted training this winter I was reasonably happy,” she said.
Next up for Tawney is the European Indoor Championships in Ancona, Italy, on Easter Monday.
