A record 17 boats completed the three scheduled races in glorious sunshine and ideal wind conditions.

The event was won by 14-time national champion Toby Cooper from Broxbourne Sailing Club, with Tim Davidson (Medley Sailing Club) runner-up.

Against strong opposition, the four home club competitors produced encouraging results, with Peter Lee from Wellesbourne tenth, Elaine Laverty (Coventry) 12th, Warwick’s Tom Billyard 14th and Pamela Coop (Radford Semele) 16th.

The small, friendly club welcomes new members, particularly beginners, and offers boats for hire or the opportunity to take your own.

It has a full racing programme but there are plenty of opportunities for pottering about.
