Kenilworth Wardens host their annual floodlit cricket competition for the fifth time next week and it promises to be the highest standard and most competitive to date.
Defending champions Leamington face Warwickshire’s three highest-ranked Birmingham Premier League clubs - leaders Berkswell, second-placed Knowle & Dorridge plus the sixth-placed hosts - in the highly-anticipated week-long competition.
Berkswell can call on the services of as many as eight players with first-class experience, and in particular will look to the all-round talents of former Glamorgan star Nick James and South African paceman Gerry Cloete.
They get the competition under way at 5.30pm on Monday against K&D who hope Aussie ace Beau Webster will inspire a first floodlit title win.
The hosts then face Leamington at 7.50pm.
The round-robin format continues on Tuesday and Wednesday before the top two meet again in Friday’s final, which starts at 7pm.
Entrance is £2 on foot or £5 per car. Food is available and the bar is open each evening.
