Warwick beat Felsted to book Twickenham berth

Warwick started well with Will Tanner kicking a 45-metre penalty on his way to a personal haul of 15 points.

They kept up the momentum with strong carries from Kieran Curran, Ollie Richardson and Tom Fawcett carving out another penalty to double the advantage.

However, a number of mistakes allowed Felsted to score out wide and take a slender one-point lead.

Warwick responded with a powerful carry from Ollie Thorneywork which saw him break through three tacklers to wrestle his way over the line for a try converted by Tanner.

The ebb and flow of the half continued with Felsted adding a penalty and then capitalising on an error at the scrum to take a 17-13 lead into the break.

Improved pitch management from Warwick reaped its reward with a charge-down try from Curran heralding a fine second-half performance.

A penalty extended Warwick’s lead to six points 
and this was improved upon when Thorneywork drove over with assistance from Curran after a series of attacking lineouts.

Full of confidence, Warwick remained on the front foot but strong defence from Felsted prevented them from extending their advantage.

Warwick will now meet Bishop Wordsworth in the final on March 29 (3.40pm).

Meanwhile, the under-14s sevens squad continued their fine run of form by winning cup competitions at the Warwick, Solihull and Bromsgrove 7s tournaments.

The Solihull tournament saw Warwick play nine games, scoring more than 350 points and conceding only 36.
