Art clubs produced stunning results

LEAMINGTON Art Gallery and Museum has hailed the success of it Summer Art Clubs which were held during August.

These sessions, which allowed families to try out different art activities every week, were very popular and over the four weeks 162 children and 78 adults took part.

This year’s activities were inspired by the current exhibition Going for Gold! Celebrating local sporting life and the Olympics. The events were free and delivered on a drop in basis so families were able to just turn up and join in. Children had the opportunity to get creative making Olympic rosettes, hats, torches and mascots.

Nadia Wazera, events officer, said ‘The Summer Art Club sessions were, once again, a success.

“Every week the children created stunning artwork to take home and had lots of fun along the way.

Parents and carers enjoyed joining in too.”

Half term art clubs will take place at the gallery on Thursday November 1 from 2pm to 4pm.
