Christine, who has written three books focusing on Warwick’s history during the past 12 years, said: “Warwick is a very beautiful town because there is so much history in a small area that’s very walkable and charming.

“Yet the town centre is also lively and modern, with its cafes and restaurants.”

Although Christine, who also works as a gallery interpreter at Compton Verney art gallery, now lives in Gloucestershire, she has spent most of her life living in Warwickshire.

She said: “Warwick has such an ancient history, but there are also touches of the Medieval and Tudor about it. That’s its charm.”
