Leamington’s Miss Monroe is set for stardom

A LEAMINGTON teenage pop singer with a stage surname synonymous with superstardom is hoping to raise her profile even further in the new year after a successful festive homecoming gig.

Molly Gribbon, who performs as her alter-ego Molly Monroe, performed at the Leamington Christmas lights switch-on recently having spent most of the year supporting Britain’s Got Talent contestants The Mend and The Loveable Rogues on tour and appearing on radio shows and at regional festivals across the UK.

The 18-year-old is looking forward to building on her success as a touring pop singer by performing at larger national events and collaborating with other artists on new tracks as she continues to work towards signing a record deal in the near future.

She said: “I’ve had one of the best years of my life. I love performing; it’s what I’ve always done. Whether it’s cheerleading, street dance or singing at local events, I’ve never wanted to do anything else. Travelling around the country as Molly Monroe is a dream come true and I am so excited about what could happen next.

It’s not just on stage performing as her alter-ego that Molly has been successful. She has recently earned herself a place at the prestigious Birmingham Academy of Music from next term allowing her to go one step closer to the worldwide successful singing career she has always dreamt of.

Molly auditioned for a national artist development programme in 2011 and since then she has worked with an award winning production team on her debut album.

She has also just shot her third music video which is expected to be broadcast on various music channels at Christmas.
