Magical Sleeping Beauty is coming to Leamington

THE panto countdown has begun as Leamington’s Spa Centre starts gearing up for its magical production of Sleeping Beauty.

Brought to the stage in conjunction with Coventry-based Imagine Theatre, the pantomime has been officially launched at the Welcombe Hotel in Stratford.

Among the cast is Leamington man Kev McGeevy, who plays Josh the Jester, who some may recognise for his appearance as Buttons at the Belgrade Theatre last year.

He said: “I made my very first stage appearance on the Spa Centre stage at the age of three and I’m delighted to be returning home for this year’s panto.

“Sleeping Beauty is a great show and I’m looking forward to all the gags and slapstick fun which make pantomimes the great family shows that they are.”

Other Leamington actors taking part include Sophie Ayres and James Holbrooke, while taking on the role of Belle is Carol Elizabeth Dobson and Genna Galloway will be the wicked fairy Carabosse.

Musical theatre regular Kraig Thornber, who has just completed a season in Little Shop of Horrors, will take to the stage as Nurse Nanny Nora.
