Retrospective show at new town art gallery

The newly-opened Deasil Art Gallery in Leamington is hosting its first solo show from Monday.

The Oxford Street venue is putting on an exhibition Nancy Upshall. Nancy has been working in the art world for many years, and she is now having a retrospective to showcase her various talents and achievements.

Nancy has lived and worked in the West Midlands for many years. She has taught art and worked as a lecturer over the years, teaching many of the current artists around the area. Nancy has had 28 solo shows across the UK, as well as being part of many mixed exhibitions.

Nancy’s work revolves around ideas of manipulating space and dimensions through the use of colour and technique.

Kate Livingston, from Deasil, said: “When looking at some of Nancy’s abstract pieces you almost feel yourself float away into a world of colour and movement. It is an absolute pleasure to be showcasing Nancy’s work at Deasil Art Gallery.

Nancy will be exhibiting from July 11 to July 30 at Deasil Art Gallery, 44 Oxford Street, The gallery is open Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am to 5pm, on Friday from 11am to 8pm and on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. She will be visiting the gallery, giving visitors the chance to find out more about her techniques and inspirations.
