Story of an extraordinary artist comes to Leamington stage

A PERFORMANCE of Phoenix Rising: D. H. Lawrence - Son and Lover, written and directed by Campbell Kay, will come to the Spa Centre in Leamington on Friday at 7.45pm.

The play shows the personalities and events which shaped the artist’s early life in 1928 in Ille de Port-Cros, Var, France. A portrait emerges of a man able to view his life with a mixture of pathos and good humour – not the serious persona implied in his writings nor the puritan sage of his biographers.
