Sweets for their fans - see The Searchers live in Leamington

The world-famous band that brought us tracks familiar with people of all ages - such as Sweets For My Sweet and Have You Ever Loved Somebody - are coming to Leamington.

The Searchers, who celebrated their 50th anniversary last year, will perform at Leamington town hall on Friday.

The band’s distinctive jangling sound of their 12-string guitar and rich harmonies remain in today’s line-up, which consists of founding member John McNally, on six-string guitar, 12-string guitar and vocals, Frank Allen - part of the band since 1964, on bass guitar and vocals, Spencer James, on guitar synthesiser and lead vocals and Scott Ottaway on drums.

Although 51 years old, the band continue to perform to large crowds across the globe, including in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The four-piece have also kept themselves busy with television and radio appearances, shows on luxury cruises and at corporate events and private parties.
