The theatre’s version of Lucy Gough’s new adaptation of the well-loved novel will be performed from tomorrow (October 23) to Saturday November 2 at 7.30pm each evening (except Sunday).

Running wild and free on the wild windswept Yorkshire Moors as children, Catherine and Heathcliff - an orphan boy rescued from the backstreets of Liverpool by Catherine’s father - are inseparable, and as they grow up their affection deepens into passionate love. But Catherine chooses to marry wealthy neighbour Edgar Linton. A brokenhearted Heathcliff flees, only to return some years later bent on taking terrible revenge on those he holds responsible for his unhappiness.

Director David Hankins said: “Long before the Twilight saga stirred the emotions of a new generation, Wuthering Heights embodied the eternal pull between good and evil, dark and light, and heaven and hell. It is a story of love, obsession, vengeance and tragedy on an epic scale.”
