It’s a question of morals at Priory

The Kenilworth theatre will get its business hat on to bring to life what has been described as a delightfully irreverent stage musical.

From the authors of Guys and Dolls, the famous story follows window cleaner, J. Pierrepont Finch who begins a meteoric rise from the mail room to vice president of advertising at the World-Wide Wicket Company.

Relying on a little handbook called How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, he climbs the corporate ladder with unorthodox and morally questionable business practices.

Tackling many familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant company man, the office party, back-stabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and true love, the musical takes office life straight onto the stage.

Director Dean Foy said with an eager cast getting into the larger-than-life roles, the scene is set for a spectacular run of performances.

“Our dedicated cast has been working very hard to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the time and place,” he said.

“With many familiar faces and some new to the Priory stage, there are some fine performances taking shape.”

Written by Weinstock and Gilbert Burrows, the hit musical includes showtunes, I Believe in You, Brotherhood of man and Coffee Break.

The show, which was revived on Broadway with Daniel Radcliffe as the hero, comes to Rosemary Hill with a 15-strong cast including Kevin Wing, Claire Tyler, Esther Taylor and Paul Boyle.

Performances run from April 13 to April 25 at 7.30pm each evening. Tickets are £10.50 from the box office on 863334.
