Warwick Arts present Action Hero
You can still catch award-winning performance company Action Hero when they bring Hoke’s Bluff to Warwick Arts Centre tonight (Thurs) until Saturday (Dec 6).
The piece, which did so well at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, navigates the territory between our emotional responses to American dreams and our rational understanding of what America - the Western World - represents.
By attempting a heartfeld and sincere rendition of schmaltzy, hackneyed sports films, it general reveals both the violence and beauty that hides within seemingly innocuous “cornball” stories.
