Youth Orchestra open with 53rd season

Young musicians will play their way into their 53rd season of concert with a grand opening show this month.

The City of Coventry Youth Orchestra will open on October 19 with a performance at King Henry VII School.

Included in this season’s programme will be music by Schubert, Strauss and Grieg performed by soloist Michael Revell- Horn and conductor Brian Chappell.

Concert starts at 2.30pm, tickets £8 from the door.

The orchestra has grown in reputation and stature and toured around the world.

New members always welcome to audition or try out a rehearsal. String players should be at grade 5 or 6 standard. Percussion grade 6 and woodwind grade 7.

Rehearsals are held every Friday evening in term time 7pm to 9.45pm at Blue Coat School in Coventry.
