Athletes celebrate 30 years of Rangemaster sponsorship

Olympic athletes joined AGA Rangemaster to commemorate the company’s huge contribution to British athletics over the past 30 years through its continued sponsorship of the Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club.

The partnership is also the longest unbroken sponsorship in the history of British athletics.

Birchfield Harriers chairman Andy Paul presented AGA Rangemaster chief executive William McGrath with a trophy to honour this sponsorship.Among those at the presentation were Olympic athletes Mickey Bushell MBE and Kelly Sotherton – both of whom started their athletics careers at Birchfield Harriers–and fellow Olympians Tom Parsons and Katrina Hart.

Speaking at the event at AGA Rangemaster’s factory in Leamington, William McGrath said: “We’re proud to have supported the club for so many years and have seen a number of athletes rise through the ranks to reach their goals and it’s great to see some of the athletes visiting the factory for the presentation.”

He presented Kelly Sotherton with an AGA City60 cooker, the newest model from the manufacturer.

Kelly said: “I am really excited by the idea of having an AGA City60. My uncle has an AGA and I have seen just how well it can cook a fantastic Christmas dinner for the whole family. I am a keen cook and my partner Nathan also loves baking. The City60 looks easy to use and I am really impressed by the versatility that the hotplate offers.”
