Emmerson Press has installed a range of new equipment after winning a string of commissions in the past 12 months.

The firm, which produces brochures for national retail brands and academic institutions as well as general printing work, has invested in a new digital printer, a plate-maker, a laminating unit and a new management information system.

The investment comes as the firm, which was founded 33 years ago, has achieved a record August.

Nick Fincher, business development director at Emmerson, said the growth had been secured by new contract wins as well as expanding work with existing clients. He said: “The company has always had a progressive view when it comes to investment. There has been a huge growth for print-on-demand work which has partly been fuelled by the improvement in technology. The investment in a new digital press will allow us to grow our share of the market.”

Emmerson Press is based in Farmer Ward Road and was started in 1981 by Brian Emmerson. The business is now run by his sons John and Jamie and employs 26 staff who work two shifts per day.
