Phone shop makes laptop donation

YOUNGSTERS will benefit from a laptop computer donated by a newly-opened mobile phone shop.

Jade Milne, the store manager of the Carphone Warehouse branch at The Shires Retail Park in Leamington, presented the laptop to Graham Norman who is the youth development officer for Warwickshire Clubs for Young People.

The donation marks the 60th anniversary of the charity, which works with youth clubs and groups across the county with the aim of enriching young people’s lives.

Mr Norman said: “Young people are at the heart of everything we do and will benefit hugely from the laptop, particularly when organising events and tournaments.

“This is a great gift from the Carphone Warehouse and I’m sure we’ll have no shortage of young people wanting to use it.

“It’s a useful and engaging way to help them to learn and develop their skills.”

The computer will be used for a range of activities such as career assistance as part of a ‘job club’ project and for planning sports events.
