Victorian discipline experienced by pupils

Southam Primary School pupils donned authentic Victorian attire as part of a day in which they learned about the period on Friday.

Deputy headteacher Amanda Startup said: “The children were surprised to find themselves lining up separately as boys and girls did in Victorian times. They then went on to learn Victorian copper-plate hand writing, about life in the work house, how to make Victorian ice cream, drill and they even tasted gruel.”
