Foodie Fortnight will run from October 5 to 19 to encourage people into the town’s shops, restaurants and bars and show off everything Kenilworth has to offer.

And with just weeks to go, entries are now open for cake making hopefuls to battle it out in the first Bake Off and for brand new and small businesses to claim a free stall in the weekend markets.

Now in its second year, organisers hope to make the two-week-long food event bigger and better than first time around with even more visitors and businesses on board.

Over two weeks, restaurants, bars, cafes and baking companies will offer discounts and special offers to get food lovers through the doors.

Organised by the Town Centre Partnership, the event will also include food markets and stalls over two weeks, children’s cookery competitions, a pudding trail and demonstrations for everyone to enjoy.

Sally Carrick from the TCP said: “This is about getting all types of business on board. We want to show off what we have in the town and that does not just mean the high street.

“If you have a small business or are just starting out baking from home, everyone can get involved with this.

“We need to get as many people out supporting us as possible to make this really special for the town.”

Small businesses can apply for a free stall at the first market of the event in Abbey End.

Entries are also now open for the first Bake Off where cake makers can fight it out to be crowned the best in town.
