Busy summer in housing market

“Traditionally Summer markets can be hit and miss, with buyers and sellers often focused by the demands of the school holidays’ says Mark Griffiths, Branch manager of Fine and Country, Leamington Spa. “However this year has seen a 36% rise in agreed sales over the course of June, July and August when compared to last year, which is simply astonishing!”

There are several factors, which have determined the reasons behind this uplift in activity.

“We had a large number of properties enter the market place in May, which triggered the activity. New listings often attract attention as soon as they appear. This is an important window of opportunity for sellers. If an agent and seller fail to get both the price and the marketing right, often the home will go stale very quickly. I am pleased to say that our staff have worked closely with our vendors and buyers in recognising this, but the net result is Fine and Country now require more listings to satisfy the demand’
