House builder helps a town to bloom

The streets of Henley-in-Arden will be blooming marvellous next summer thanks to a donation by Taylor Wimpey Midlands.

The leading house builder, which recently launched its Farriers Cross development in the town, has donated £250 to Henley in Bloom to help pay for new metal troughs for next summer’s planting scheme.

Anne Wallace, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, thinks everything will come up smelling of roses.

She said: “We were more than happy to help out with this project, especially as we’re building our Farriers Cross development here in Henley in Arden and so are keen to support the local community.

“Henley is already a prize blossom in Warwickshire’s floral crown but the Henley in Bloom team makes it outclass the others. We hope these troughs help the town achieve top prize in next year’s competition.”

Gordon Trinder, chairman of Henley in Bloom, said: “It’s a big thank you from us to Taylor Wimpey for making this donation, which we’re definitely going to put to good use. We’re digging deep to create something spectacular for next summer and we hope the judges name us best in show.”

There really is something for everyone at Farriers Cross, as the collection of just 30 homes comprises two bedroom coach houses, two bedroom apartments, three bedroom terraced houses and four and five bedroom detached homes.

The development is situated just of the high street and prices start from £174,995 through to £419,995.

Farriers Cross is set in the heart of Henley. The High Street offers designer shops, refreshments and an array of gastro bars and coffee shops.

Being a conservation area the town lists over 150 buildings as being of special architectural or historic interest.
