All the pictures of schools’ jubilee celebrations

SCHOOLS around Warwickshire held parties to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Here is a selection of pictures from events in which pupils learnt about the Queen and her 60 years in the throne.

• Coten End Primary School staff Debra Padginton, Deborah Chowdhury and pupils Julie, Hanna, Owen and Millie turned up in red, white and blue to celebrate the Jubilee. MHLC-01-06-12 diamond Jun16

• Leamington mayor Yvonne Moore presented specially-commissioned Jubilee mugs to Kingsley School students before unveiling a commemorative bench in the school garden, made from part of the trunk of a copper beech tree which stood in the school grounds for 300 years. Pupils spent the morning making Jubilee-themed craft items which Cllr Moore judged with the help of pupil Katie Neal, 11, who was chosen as the school’s ‘Queen’ for the day. Picture submitted

• Children at St Augustine’s School in Kenilworth celebrated in style when they went to school wearing Jubilee colours. The whole school shared a picnic on the school field and prepared bunting, place mats and crowns. Pictured are Darcy, Lily, Mrs Shilton, Matilda, Carys, Liam, Hannah and Rory.

• Woodloes Pre-School held a Jubilee party for which staff and children dressed up as kings and queens.

With the help of their teachers, pupils then participated in a display of music, mime, and drama entitled“An Elizabethan Tale”, accompanied by the professional actors of Godiva Associates led by Coventry’s Pru Poretta, created a picture of life over the six decades of the Queen’s reign. And Crackley Hall’s roving reporters from the school’s Crackley Chronicle ensured that this historic event along with face painting and a Jubilee banquet was captured in words and pictures for the newspaper’s summer edition. • Children at Castle Nursery in Kenilworth were surprised and thrilled when the ‘Queen’ arrived at their Jubilee party. The Queen was acted by one of the nursery assistants mothers, and she answered questions from the children and told them stories about her ‘reign’. Picture submitted

• The children of Wolverton School in Norton Lindsey commemorated the Queen’s Jubilee in a very colourful way.

Using recycled materials, the children dressed in red, white and blue and created a wall hanging depicting the Queen’s Head, together with decorating their own commemorative mugs and plaques.
