Ambulance driver hurt in Warwick attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an ambulance driver was injured in Warwick on Saturday.

The incident happened in Emscote Road at around 7am.

A bottle was thrown at the ambulance and smashed a window, covering the driver in shattered glass and causing cuts to his arm and body.

Four other people inside the West Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle were not harmed.

A window in the nearby Nationwide Autocentre had also been damaged.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old man at the scene and he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
